Care Of Your iPad

The iPad that is checked out to you will be the iPad you will use while you are a student at Loganville High School. Because you get the same iPad each year, it is going to be important that you take good care of it.

iPad Case:

  • You will be issued a Gumdrop iPad case.  You should always keep a case on your iPad.
  • To clean the outside of the case, unplug all cables and turn off iPad (press and hold the Sleep/Wake button, and then slide the onscreen slider).  Use only a soft, lint-free cloth (microfiber is best). Avoid getting moisture in openings. Don’t use window cleaners, household cleaners, aerosol sprays, solvents, alcohol, ammonia, or abrasives.

Charging your iPad:

  • You will be issued one USB power adapter block and USB charger cable.  You will be responsible for this block and cable until you graduate from Loganville High School.  If for some reason they get lost, stolen, or broken, you can purchase them from the Media Center for the following cost:  $5 for the cable and $5 for the block.
  • You are expected to have your iPad fully charged every day and ready for class.

Other helpful hints:

  • Do not loan your device, charger, cords or any other device related items.
  • Do not leave the device in vehicle.
  • Do not leave your device unattended.
  • Do not eat or drink while using the device or have food or drinks in close proximity to the device.
  • Do not allow pets near your device.
  • Do not place the device in floor or in sitting area such as couches or chairs.
  • Do not leave the device near table or desk edges.
  • Do not stack objects on top of your device.
  • Do not leave the device outside or use near water such as a pool.
  • Do not check the device as luggage at the airport.
  • Devices must remain in system or student provided case at all times.
  • Devices should be securely stored and not in use when walking in the hall.
  • Keep sharp objects away from the iPad, including pens and pencils.
  • For your apps to work properly and to help with battery life, periodically close the apps that are processing in the background.
  • Do a hard reset of your iPad twice a week.  Do a hard reset of the iPad (hold the "Sleep/Wake" button on the upper right of your iPad along with the circular "Home" button on the lower middle part of the device's bezel. After 10 seconds, you should see the Apple logo..
